Submitted Google Sitemap but No Difference

I submitted once more the Google sitemaps. IT accepted it. Yeah! But now after a few days there is no noticeable difference. In fact, when I when to http://www.seoguy.com and used the link popularity free tool. I see my link status has gone DOWN? And when comparing other small, independent SEO consultants, we were no where near the level that our competition was at. Frustrating. There are a lot of components involved and hopefully it will begin to show some signs of strength here in the future.
