skr325: What To Do When A Ppc Campaign Just Won't Convert (Pay-per-click (PPC) Search Engine Advertising)
Where are the ads taking the user? To the homepage? If so, the homepage is a loudmouth answer to a quiet question asked in Google. Say the user searched for iPod InMotion...what would they do with this homepage -- they'd be forced to "search" again below the fold, or perhaps even dig to other pages. Have you tried landing pages and A/B testing? While I agree the page looks "perty", and there is quite a bit of information, a case might be made for overwhelming a user coming from an ad.What I am saying is that there is a lot of noise on the homepage and your PPC audience is very particular (as we all know the iPod crowd is savvy) and wants to see the iPod InMotion stand out with perhaps some also consider type products perhaps listed nearby.
